The Client
ADH Publishing Ltd, Bedfordshire.
The Company is publishing the UK’s largest range of hobby magazines.

The challenge
The client is factoring some invoices in the UK and overseas and was faced with not having enough time to chase for payment of non-factored invoices and those that were reassigned from the factoring company. In addition to this there were some old invoices that had slipped through the net and again, chasing was a time issue. It was also important to keep in control of the non factored invoices and put in place an efficient & effective process of collection.

The solution
It became clear, that the initial work was that of a ledger ‘tidy-up’ and collecting old debts. As some of the debts were overseas, they needed to be contacted out of normal office hours.

It was impractical to take on full or part-time staff without incurring added costs such as PAYE, holiday and sick pay, so it was decided to outsource this function.

The outcome
We have been working with this client for 6 months now. An extra £30k has been collected in old debts and regular payments are received from current non factored accounts.

Queries and disputes are identified sooner so they can be resolved more quickly. The client is also benefiting from having a dedicated credit controller to deal with in terms of continuity and trust.

Weekly reports are produced giving a forecast of cash expected in and the status of the debtors and to see the ongoing benefits of outsourcing the credit control function.
